Welcome Baby Max

My brother Andrew and his wife Niki just had a baby boy named Max. Max has two darling, very sweet big sisters, Amme and Claire that will love having a new little baby to love. The doctors are concerned about his heart. We hope he won't need to have surgery next week. We are so happy to have him here.

Utah

I wasn’t looking forward to Mike being gone (He was in Prague for school) so we decided to go to Utah to drive Grandma and Grandpa D. crazy. As always, they made sure our trip was especially nice. A few of the highlights were:

The Children’s Museum

The Dinosaur Museum

Wading in the stream at Rock Canyon Park

Girls Night Out with my sisters and mom - Thanks Grandpa D. and Uncle Gordon for babysitting. ;)

Meeting up with Stephanie and Heidi at The Chocolate – yum and seeing their adorable newborns. I missed seeing a few other friends I had really wanted to meet up with but hopefully I’ll be able to next time.

Visiting Andrew and Niki’s new place

Two nights up at the cabin, fishing, watching the kids dance, and laying in the hammock

Swimming and going down the waterslides at the Veterans Pool

A Heber Creeper Train Ride especially fun for James as he can’t get enough of trains

Getting time to talk with my grandpa, mom, dad, sisters, brother and their families. They were especially helpful and it is very much appreciated.

James is one talented little fellow. He walks on his tip toes but not like you are thinking. He can actually walk on the tips of his toes. Michael and I still can't figure out how he does it. Next time I see him do it, I'll try to take a picture and attach it to his post. Does this mean he'll be a ballerino?

I put pink curlers in my hair this morning. James came in the bathroom and said my hair looked very pretty pink. Maybe I should give it a try. The boys insisted on wearing ties as they do every week. Last week, James somehow managed to get pee pees all over his tie. I still haven't figured that one out. I looked around in Sacrament Meeting and found James lying directly under the bench. You’d think his parents would teach him better. Jonathan read the 4th Article of Faith in Primary and did a great job. There are very few things more miserable than being around parents bragging about what good readers their kids are but for good measure, he's an awesome reader. James told us how he was nice in nursery and tickled a girl. I gave a lesson in RS which was a first for me in quite some time, while Gracie enjoyed Elders Quorum with Mike. The boys are currently in the living room chanting, “Go Grace. Go Grace.” I better go so I don't miss the action.

The other day the three munchkins at our house were all playing in the living room. I was in our room. Jonathan carried Gracie in under her arms. She was grinning. He placed her on the floor saying she was being a handful. A minute later James came in with a grumpy look on his face (it is actually quite a cute grumpy face but we try not to give him too much attention for it), picked her up under her arms and took her back into the living room. A minute later they did the exact same thing. She is like their little puppy dog -here, there, everywhere.

I love him lots and am very blessed to be married to him. The boys had a fun time hiding his presents and having him follow a string around the house to find them. We had a pizza party at La Jolla Shores last night. Grandpa and Grandma Neyens came down to wish him a happy birthday with a nice looking shirt that I’m sure he’ll look great in. The boys loved having the extra attention and wore themselves out running after birds, tackling Grandpa and playing on the playground. Grandpa and Grandma D. sent a nice card, along with a box of very nice clothes. They are already being put to good use. The kids and I gave him an external hard drive and lots of highly valuable homemade coupons. I think he is really looking forward to his massage although he doesn’t seem quite as excited about the manicure and pedicure. ;)
