Jonathan read a book to us tonight. Some of the characters were described as "fat" or "thin". Somehow, Jonathan has the idea that it isn't appropriate to say "fat" or "thin" so he substituted "plump" and "lean" instead.

Jonathan: "Mom, that's too advanced for me."

Jonathan: "Dad, Mom, I think James is more talented than me."

As we were getting out of the car, Jonathan asked what the handle above the doors in cars is for. I told him you can hold onto it if you are going to fall over onto your side or head... and he added "or your B-U-T." I said, "Jonathan, did you mean bum?" He must have picked that up at school. He got embarrassed and said, "Mom, that's private!"
