A couple of weekends ago Grandma Neyens was nice enough to let us visit while Mike worked at a GI meeting in Carlsbad. We watched General Conference and the boys had a yard in which to run around. She put up with the messes and noise and the boys had a great time.
Last weekend we went to Poway Lake to celebrate Jonathan’s marble jar of good deeds being filled to the top. Yes, Duane, this is the same jar we started right before you left. And, yes, I realize I have room for improvement with my parenting. It took a few months to fill up, but finally we were able to have the long-anticipated, fun activity. Jonathan was able to drive the boat and the boys had a blast. I imagined boating with the boys in sixteen years. I can’t wait.
My favorite thing to do with Jonathan now is reading books. We go to the library at least twice a week and love reading together. He also loves playing hide and seek with us. His favorite hiding spot is behind the futon. He wants to have Family Night every night of the week. He also likes jumping and running. This is problematic for our downstairs neighbors…
James is a doll. He gets a lot of attention from random strangers and loves to tell people all sorts of unintelligible, serious-sounding stories about what he’s feeling. He reminded us to pray tonight by folding his arms and bowing his head. He loves his big brother despite being tackled by him at least once a day and still loves to play peak-a-boo.
